I keep reading about all of these movies coming out and quotes from people saying, “We don’t take off our clothes — we’re classy. It’s like burlesque without the strip.” And I’m like what are you talking about? There is no burlesque without the strip. The trick is can you be classy, sophisticated, elegant AND take off your clothes? Every man wants to be with the American pinup. I want to be her. ▬ Dita Von Teese.

The great thing about burlesque is that it embraces all women. Regardless of size.

If you want to borrow ideas from the style of burlesque icon Dita Von Teese, I have a freshly uploaded tutorial inspired by her makeup application (click HERE to see the video).
You can certainly apply your foundation the usual way, instead of paling it down a bit like I do in the video. If you do decide to wear a slightly lighter base shade, remember to blend it down your neck and over any other skin your blouse or top exposes.
More to come for makeup and beauty lovers. :)

Today, I filmed a tutorial based on the makeup worn by glamorous Dita Von Teese.
The video will be posted on my YouTube channel as soon as I’m done editing it, and I’ll also be back here with the link.
I hope your day is going really well. ♥

If you enjoyed yesterday’s post on Christina Aguilera in the movie, Burlesque, here’s another tutorial for you inspired by the same film.
This time, these are screencaps from a how-to video on a look based on Christina’s makeup while she performs the song, Express. (Click HERE to see the tutorial.) I love how it’s both sparkly and dark… edgy, yet with a somewhat classic touch.
It makes a great look for going out at night.

Hello to the makeup lovers who follow my blog!
I’m editing a tutorial right now to post on my YouTube channel within the day, and just thought I’d stop by and share a little something before I continued putting my new video together.
These are screencaps of my Christina Aguilera “But I Am a Good Girl” (from “Burlesque”) Makeup Tutorial. (Click if you want to see it.) I really love the pink and sparkly elements of this look, and so here it is for other girly girls who enjoy the same thing.
I’ll be back later. I hope your day is going really well!
